WPS Announces Preseason Schedule

WPS has announced their 2011 preseason schedule. The highlight has to be Sky Blue's three game trip to Turkey, where they will face FK Energiya, Fortuna Hjorring, and LdB FC Malmo. Sky Blue recently entered into a partnership agreement with Malmo.

The rest of the preseason has WPS teams facing top college programs. There are no games scheduled between two WPS teams.

The schedule opens March 6, with Atlanta taking on University of South Florida at the Beat's home, KSU Soccer Stadium. The expansion Western New York Flash open their preseason on March 8 against the University of Buffalo.

Note that the schedule released does not include any matches for the Washington Freedom, as they are still in the process of finalizing plans for the 2011 season.
