Rookie Jordan Angeli has been named as the WPS Player of the Month for July. The Boston Breaker midfielder edged out Amy Rodriguez and Marta for the honor.
Angeli scored four goals and added an assist during the month. She helped Boston post a 5-1 record for July, a month in which the Breakers moved from sixth place into third.
Angeli was drafted in the 2nd round of the January, 2010 draft, the 16th selection overall. She played her college soccer for the Santa Clara Broncos. Angeli overcame a good deal of adversity in her career, missing both the 2007 and 2008 college seasons with torn ACL's. She returned to the Broncos in 2009 to finish up her stellar college career.
