The Atlanta Beat have signed German forward Shelley Thompson as their 5th international player. Thompson, a veteran of the Frauen Bundesliga, scored 30 goals for her club team, FCR Duisburg, back in 2004-05. She has played for Vfl Wolfsburg for the last three years. She has scored 2 goals in 3 appearances for the 2009-10 season.
Thompson, who just turned 26, will be the first German to play in WPS.
