According to the WPS Official Website, FC Gold Pride has waived Eriko Arakawa on Friday. This opens up a spot on the roster for another international player, presumably looking forward to the Thursday dispersal draft of Los Angeles Sol players. To my knowledge, there has not been a statement from FC Gold Pride regarding this move.
This leaves Gold Pride with 4 internationals on their roster, Christine Sinclair, Candace Chapman, Solveig Gulbrandsen, and Camille Abily. Whether this means Gold Pride is looking toward drafting Marta or perhaps, Aya Miyama is unclear at this point. Gold Pride will draft 3rd in the dispersal draft behind Atlanta and Philadelphia.
